We think that you came to our site to search and download stuff. Not to be showered in tons of ads. Not to be required to get an "invite" for searching. Not to be scammed into paying for "high speed download new movies". Not to be required to lick butts of "admins" or "moderators" to be able to access content.
So just enjoy Bitsnoop awesomnomnomeness!
P.S. Please, do not violate copyright laws — corporations have executives to take care of and buy more yachts and private jets. They really are making our world a better place by giving some Cambodian kid a career in packing stuff — for 12 hours a day, one dollar per hour. I mean, he would die of starvation otherwise, right?
P.P.S. We would appreciate if you don't use ad-blocking software here — helps us to pay the bills. Also it will presumably give you that warm feeling of helping someone. If you still want to use it — we can recommend AdBlock or IE7Pro.
What, why and how
Bitsnoop.com is a torrent indexer. Our robots roam the internets and get you torrents you want.
We have created the architecture and software that powers Bitsnoop. From scratch.
Others add another fancy graphic or useless bells and whistles — we concentrate on stuff which is important: search quality and usability.
We want to build the biggest and best P2P search system in the internet. We're one of the biggest already, now it's time for "the best".
Magnet links at Bitsnoop are generated with TrackerMatch technology.
Each record we scrape gets analyzed and filtered to exclude typos, errors and just junk in tracker URLs. You would be amazed how many torrents there are with junk in tracker addresses (about 15% of them). We know about backup tracker hosts, redirects, DNS aliases, tracker clusters etc. — and we know how to deal with them so you don't have to.
If any of thousands trackers that we access knows about torrent (and they are "good" trackers) — it will get added to Magnet link you get. Which means that you will get more trackers and better speed in torrents, as compared to other sites.
Our team has a background in telecom data-crunching systems (mediation/rating/billing). We know how to manage hundreds of gigabytes of data, to cleanse and verify it.
Briefly, it's like a team of data analysts checking torrent to determine if it is fake.
The only difference — we employ robots for this, which allows us to process insane amounts of torrents very fast.
So how does it work?
First robot check if the torrent can be flagged "Verified" automatically — based on how was it discoverd, how is it tracked, named, what are torrent contents and some other variables.
Then, for each and every torrent we run a bunch of checks (names, structure, file sizes, etc.) and adjust torrent rating (adding votes). Suspicious torrents will be lowered in search results and marked as such. Or even flagged as "Fake". You can see how many times robots voted at statistics page.
We keep an eye on torrent releases, users' votes and P2P forums — to add new FakeScan checks. If you happen to know a check we might've missed — drop a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Seeing "Verified" next to torrent name means that you can download it with no worries (99% probability).
